No two trees are the same and no two trees require the same type or frequency of tree trimming.
That said, we offer some practical rules of thumb to help you decide what types of trees you should consider trimming at different points in the year. As always, we recommend getting in touch for a free on-site assessment from one of our ISA-certified arborists. Together, we can craft a custom pruning program or schedule through our Tree Maintenance Program.
Yes - we work in the winter! In fact, trimming your tree in the winter is one of the safest and best times to trim your tree. During winter, deciduous trees are in a state of dormancy. This means they are not actively growing, and their metabolic processes slow down. Trimming during dormancy minimizes stress on the tree, as it can allocate resources to wound healing without the demands of new growth.
While spring is suitable for certain trimming tasks, it's essential to consider the specific needs and characteristics of each tree species. Some trees, especially those susceptible to certain diseases or pests, may have optimal trimming times outside of the spring season.
Contrary to popular belief, summer is not the optimal time for extensive trimming, as it can place stress on trees during their active growing season. However, there are specific situations and types of trimming that may be appropriate in the summer. We would advise you to get in touch to discuss your specific situation.
Fall can be a great time to perform certain types of trimming, with considerations for the specific goals of each tree species. Heavy trimming, especially on mature trees, should be approached with caution in the fall. Removing a significant portion of the canopy during this time may result in stress and reduced energy reserves for the tree - just as they are entering winter dormancy.

I've used this company several times over the years to great success for trimming and tree removals. There was a small mishap once and they promptly and fairly addressed the issue. Nothing but good things to say about this company. Highly recommended.

The arborist (Nicole) and the team (lead by Steve) were very knowledgeable and pleasure to work with. They tackled a large project on a Silver Maple. They took precautions to protect the lawn as they brought in a 60 foot boom and a crane to remove the massive logs. The drops were well controlled. The use of a chipper made quick work of the brush. Excellent pricing. I would use them again.
