We've provided some of our favorite questions you should be asking tree companies before making your selection. 

Are you responsive? Do you answer the phone? 

We get it, there is nothing more frustrating than a service contractor not picking up the phone when you call. Last year, we answered 97% of all phone calls into our office. We're working on getting that to 100%!

Are you licensed and insured?

Beswick has $5M of commercial insurance coverage. We pay worker's comp and we employ ISA-certified arborists. Be sure to ask if they also have a business license. In the City of Hamilton, for example, a tree care company must have a valid Tree Cutting Service License issued by the City of Hamilton before performing any tree work. How experienced are your tree care professionals? 

We are not a fly by night tree care company. The average tenure of Beswick's team is 10 years, with a handful of our tree care professionals having been with us for 20+ years. In fact, the granddaughter of one of Beswick's founders is currently employed as one of our ISA-certified arborists and has been at Beswick since she was 15 years old. Do you perform regular maintenance on your fleet and equipment? 

Regular maintenance and upkeep of a contractor's tools, fleet and equipment is essential to delivering excellent customer service. Beswick performs regularly scheduled maintenance on all of our equipment to ensure just that. Our trucks go in for a full service 3x per year and our chippers 4x per year. 

Do you bill by the hour or on a flat rate? 

We bill on a flat rate but can bill by the hour if that is what you want or if that is what the job requires. In either case, we provide a custom quote tailored exactly to your needs and specific situation. We will never start work without delivering to you a written estimate and agreeing on the exact scope of work to be performed. 

Will you provide a written quote that you will stand by throughout the work? Are quotes free?

Beswick provides free, written quotes that we will stand by 100%. If we have mis-quoted anything, that's on us - not you.
